Q&A: New Mexico Application Concerns, School Accreditation & more…
SAVEDBYGRACE
Miss Joan.. your site is really a BIG help for us confused applicants… I’m planning to take the NCLEX-RN exam hopefully within the next year because I need to complete all the needed requirements for California. My Diploma together with my PRC license will be released on November. I just have this 1 problem. my school is not yet accredited by Ched. i saw that one of the requirments needed is SCHOOL ACCREDITATION. We are the 1st batch of nursing graduates in our university and it’s really confusing becasue they said that our university is autonomous so we dont need to have an accreditation from ched. how can we provide this “school accreditation”? thank you.. God bless!!
The California BON just needs your school to fill up the following documents: REQUEST FOR TRANSCRIPT and BREAKDOWN OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM. As long as your school can fill out those forms and provide you with your TOR and RLE records I think you would be fine. The thing is PRC allowed you take the licensure exam that means your school is recognized.

hello.. I would just like to ask if it is possible to apply for nclex in new mexico even if I don’t have a license yet since I’m a new local board passer and it won’t be available yet for the next 6 months according to the PRC
As long as you passed the local boards and have your license number (which I believe is indicated in the claim stub given to you when you register) you can apply in New Mexico. You need to fulfill the CES requirement clarify with PRC if you can do such even without your actual license being ready.

hi po…I really need your help…I’m planning to apply for NCLEX-RN sa new mexico BON…But, I have a problem…I don’t know if how many years will the new mex license expires…I don’t have any idea bout that…sabi ko nga na sa CaLifornia na lng pero knowing that may retroression pa, baka d pa ko alis dito ng phils. sa loob ng 3 years at mag-expire na calif. license ko. Ano po ba yung advantage at dsadvantages kung sa NEW MEXICO po ako aapply? thank you and god bless!
I know that you worry about the retrogression but I think this is the best way to look at things. Apply to the state where you intend on working and staying. Choose will it be California or New Mexico? A lot can happen within that 3 year period so we cannot keep on assuming. Application wise it would be cheaper in California since they do not require a Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) which costs $328 aside from this there are processing and other fees to be incurred.

Kung sakaling after 3 years wal pa akong ssn# ibig ba sabihin uulit ako ng exam?
Congratulations on passing the examination. Thank you for supporting the site and I am honored to be a part of your success. As for your question, the answer is still unclear on that part but for most people I have asked the answer is yes. Good luck with your future endeavors and continue to support the site. See you around!
