Hello Miss Joan!Its me again twinkle!I mailed po ung application ko kasama ung requirements at forms galing sa school ko last june after ng Local board exam ko.3 wks later nka recieved me ng letter from them sabi nila after daw nila nireviewed ung application ko kulang daw ako ng $19 for fingerprint fee.Na recieved na po nila ung additional payment when I called them pero ung application ko daw po di pa nila na process hintay daw po ako ng 24 wks.Di po kaya maging problema ung $19 sa pagprocess ng application ko.Tinanong ko din po sila kung ano pang kulang sa mga requirements sabi nung nkasagot di nya raw alam. Worried po ako kc baka itanung nila ung license ko kahit my explanation letter me.By the way,naipasa ko na ung local board ko last june exam pero december pa ung releasing ng license ko..

First of all how much was the money that you sent together with your application? For fingerprint processing and application fee the total would be $126. The thing is they informed you of the $19 that was lacking and you complied with it and they verified that they received the amount. Average processing of eligibility is 3-6 months depending on the bulk of applicants and other factors. Here is what I can suggest you can follow up your application after a month or two just so you know where you stand. If there are lacking requirements with your application they would inform you via a letter just like what they did when they said your application lacks $19.

I am very puzzled with the NCLEX procedures. i did read lots of information regarding of NCLEX such as application, fees, etc. yet i am still confused. i do have lots of questions in my mind. Would you mind? I am planning to take NCLEX. So i choose CALIFORNIA as my state of option.
Not at all. I mean this is what the site is for to help out people with their application so lets get started with your queries.
1. How much  is really the application fees? Some would say 107, 126 or 200? Which is which?
I know this can get confusing the prices are different depending on what services you are going to use from the California Board of Registered Nursing. So let me give you the breakdown of prices to explain which prices are for what.
  • Application Fee $75
  • Interim Permit $30
  • Fingerprint Process $51
Obviously, you will need to pay the $75 application fee to process your application. In addition, you also have to avail of the fingerprint process fee of $51. All in all total is $126 if you are interested in getting an interim permit then you just add $30 to the total. 
2. Do i have to leave blank in SSN in the application form since i don’t have any.?
Yes just leave it blank.
3. Can u breakdown the list of things before passing my application to CA BON for the first time?

4. do i have to send the demand draft together with the application for the first time? or do i have to wait my eligibility then thats the time i would pay?
You have to send it together with your application or else it will not be processed.

I would just like to ask how I will be able to fill up the fingerprint card form from california….I dont’ know what I will write in the blanks…is there a fingerprinting fee in NBI…tnx a lot!
Here are the guidelines taken from the California Board of Registered Nursing website:
Applicants must complete all items which are marked by a black “X” on the card. To facilitate prompt and accurate processing of the fingerprint card by the DOJ and FBI, type or print legibly in BLACK INK all requested information on the card. If any color other than black is used, the card will be rejected and another card will have to be completed and submitted.
Use the abbreviations listed below for the physical description items:
• Height (HGT) – Express in feet and inches. Do not use fractions of an inch; round off to the nearest inch. DO NOT USE THE METRIC SYSTEM. Correct example: 5′ 9″.
• Weight (WGT) – Express in pounds. Do not use fractions of a pound; round off to the nearest pound. DO NOT USE THE METRIC SYSTEM. Correct example: 139 lbs.
• Color of EYES – Black BLK Gray GRY Blue BLU Green GRN Brown BRN Hazel HZL
• Color of HAIR – Bald BAL Gray GRY Black BLK Red/ Auburn RED Blonde BLN Sandy SDY Brown BRN White WHI
Each applicant MUST have his/her fingerprints imprinted only in BLACK INK on fingerprint card. Fingerprints should be taken at a local law enforcement agency. There may be a fee for this service. We advise that you should call first as to a convenient time.
DO NOT FOLD FINGERPRINT CARD. Use a 9″ X 12″ envelope to return your completed application and fingerprint card with fees. Write “DO NOT FOLD” on the envelope. If your card is folded, you will need to complete and submit a new fingerprint card. THIS WILL CAUSE A DELAY IN DETERMINING YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION OR LICENSURE.

Register at PearsonVUe either by mail or via the Internet. If you register via the Internet you do not need to accomplish the forms that were included with the Candidate Bulletin. Please take note that once you register you need to take the examination within one year from the date of your registration.

    I have another question what is this form stating:

    NURSING PROGRAM VERIFICATION
    This form is to be completed by the nursing program Dean or Director or their designee if
    accommodation(s) to testing procedures were granted to this candidate during their nursing program.
    Original submission of this form is optional. However, if this form is not used, all of the information
    requested must be provided on original letterhead stationery of the nursing program.

    hi miss Joan..my name is Joanna Kaye Josol from Bohol..my 1st questions is, in the TOR, what will i write as a purpose? is it “for california board of registered nursing”?

    and the second question is that, i have no middle name. which i think is very rare.. should i place N/A at the box where middle name should be provided? and my mom and I have same family names. is it okay if i place JOSOL at the box where MOTHER’S MAIDEN NAME is required?

    Thank u very much Miss Joan!But I have another question again,Kailangan po ba Authenticated ng PRC ang copy ng license ko bago ko mail sa CA.Lahat po ba kailangan nila sa copy of license ung Board rating,Certificate o ID xerox lang po.

    hi. i already received the fingerprint card from BON of Cali. Too bad that it was a bit folded when i received it. Since i have read that folded cards would delay the processing of my papers, would they send me another cards again? Hoping for your reply.

    hi Miss Joan,tnx po reply..anyway may question lng po ako..nareceived ko na po ung fingerprint ko from cali.wats the next thing to do po? ung mga ni request ko pong requirements sa skul nsa akin n din po.I asked them kng cla po ba mgpapadala.hndi daw po.so pano po un?ano po color ng background ng 2×2 passport size?Pwede din po bng pki explain regarding Interim permit? confused lng po.kng required po akong kumuha non.ano po ba ung ADvantages and disadvantages pg kumuha k ng interim permit?may expiration po ba ang NClex once u passed it??tnx po..pcensya na po sa maraming questions?hoping 4 ur reply..more power po and Godbless.. =)

    Hi Ms. Joan,

    I would like to thank you for the helpful tips you have on your website and I would really appreciate it if you would read my letter and hear a reply from you.

    I graduated from college last March of 2007 and some unexpected thing happened that’s why I was not able to take the local board exam and was not able to accomplish any documents for NCLEX.

    So, anyway right now thing had started to go my way and I have passed the local board last November 2008. I am planning to go to the US by April of this year, and I have all (i think) the documents needed for the application.

    1. Application for Licensure Exam.
    2. Copy of my license.
    3. Finger print card.
    4. the fees.

    But, one of the few problems I have is that I have the documents from our school registrar. I have the in an envelope which has a dry seal in it and our registrars signature up in front. Lemme just enumerate the documents in it.

    1. OTR
    2. Summary of RLE
    3. “Request for Transcript” form
    4. “Breakdown of Educational Program for int’l Nursing Programs” form.
    5. “Nursing Program Verification” form.
    6. A certification from our schools Registrar stating that I am a Graduate from College, and of good moral. (I think it’s a good moral thing).
    7.Theoretical and Clinical Hours of Instruction.
    8. and lastly a subject/course description certificate.

    All those documents are inside the envelop BUT our registrar didn’t seal it on purpose i think so we could check if anything was missing.

    My question is “THE DATES STATED ON THE FORMS IS FEBRUARY 5, 2008 AND IS IT OK IF I STILL USE AND MAIL THOSE DOCUMENTS FOR MY APPLICATION SINCE IT BEEN A YEAR SINCE I GOT THOSE DOCUMENTS?

    and my other question is “CAN I MYSELF USE THE SERVICE OF FEDEX OR ANY OTHER CARRIER TO MAIL THE ENVELOPE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MAILED BY MY SCHOOL?

    uhm.. hello there! Im just a little confused about sending the applications. I have read in your older articles that it would be faster if I asked someone from the US to send my application…

    The address in my application is from the Philippines. The address I will be using to send the letter to the BORN will be from the US. Will this do? Will I still receive my ETT?

    Lastly, the Breakdown of Educational Program and Transcripts letters… My school does not mail these letters for us. We have to mail it ourselves. Why cant I just staple the application, and these envelopes and have them sent together in the US(mailed by a family member) instead?

    There’s also the matter of the fingerprint card. I was born in LA, CA. Is there a code for that?
    And the Race. Asian decent: AZN or Asian?

    Im done with almost all of the requirements. Jst the mailing thing that bothers me a lot.

    Hi Ms. Joan! I wld like to know if it’s okay to have erasures on my application form that I submitted to my school? I’ve called our registrar and told her to erase my SS# coz u said that I should leave it blank since I’m not a citizen in California. Pls answer…Tnk u n GOD Bless!!

    hello hi..there miss joan, due to your help i have aready took the exam last dec8,2009 for california board of nursing ….thanks a lot ma’am but up to this date i haven’t recieve my exam result thru mail since my board of nursing doesn’t participate in quick result…is there any problem regarding my exam?knor this could be an indication that i failed the exam?..thanks ma’am more power
