Hello Ms. Joan,Good day.. I want to ask about my existing application in BON-CA.Since I started to process my endorsement in Vermont, do they cancel my application there because I endorse my requirements to Vermont? or they will wait till my result expire. My NCLEX result will only expire this November 2009. One thing is, I want to have a license active in CA so,I don’t know if I could keep 2 licenses in 2 states? I hope u get my point. Thanks a lot
I don’t think you can hold 2 licenses in 2 states especially with the situation of not having a SSN since you cannot get your permanent license in California.

Hello again Miss Joan!Ok lng po ba na send ko ang photocopy ng ID license at board rating ko even without the photocopy of my board certificate. After 6 months pa daw kase puede ma release ung board certificte nung pumasa ng June 2008.
That is fine. Just send over a copy of your PRC License and a certified photocopy/ original board certificate. Just attach a cover letter explaining that your actual board certificate won’t be available until 6 months from now.
MS. TORRES
what should i do, so the CA BRN will send my result ot cgfns/ichp?
You are applying for VisaScreen? If yes, there is a form in the VisaScreen application packet called License Verification and fill out the necessary parts and then send it over to CA BON together with the fees and when they receive that they would be the one to mail the filled out forms to CGNFS/ICHP.

First, with the fingerprint card you have to have that accomplished by a professional in terms of getting the fingerprint marks usually you can do that at a NBI branch more often than not they have that done in Carriedo. Also please follow the abbreviations for certain question in the fingerprint card which can be found in the application packet from CA BON.
As for the school requirements, most school in the Philippines do not offer mailing. So what you can do is have all the school documents needed placed in a letter envelope and then have the it sealed and signed by the registrar. And then you have to mail it separately from your personal application and have it appear that the school sent it. So you would use the school’s address in mailing.
Usually, its a white background 2×2 picture. As for the interim permit, you need not apply for it because first of all, you are not legal to work in the US usually this is beneficial for students who graduated nursing there and is in transition for work and like what I mentioned a BSN degree holder who can work there.
For California, once you passed the NCLEX-RN exam, they will be prompting you to give a SSN which of course can only be obtained when you are legal to work in the US. If not, you are given three years to provide them with that.

Maam JOan,
I have received a snail mail from BRN in CA about my application. They had initial evaluation and they found out that I was allegedly the one who pass my school credentials which I didn’t. I confirmed the school that they sent my documents last october 24.
One more thing is that they mispelled my name in the letter header.. It should be Cristopher not Christopher. It’s in my application though. Then I emailed the BRN in their licensing, exam application and status application last december 10 yet i haven’t yet received any response from them. Tell me what to do…
Here is the thing, if that is their finding then all you have to do is comply with it. So what you can do is request the necessary documents again from your school and then have them certify all the documents. The best thing is have all documents placed with a school seal at the same time place all the requirements in a sealed envelope and have them sign the flap of the envelope. It would help if your school can also attach a letter saying that all documents were prepared by the school and then have them attach a copy of the letter CA BON sent you. But of course, the decision will still be up to you if you want to fight your way thru this but I think you will just lose more time doing son.
You have to inform the CA BON about the mispelled name. Since it might create problems in your ATT in the long run. The accuracy of your name is important when you take the NCLEX-RN exam. The best thing to do is to give them a call. More often than not they really do not reply via email. Their office hours is 8am- 5pm Pacific Time, Mondays- Fridays and the contact number is +1 (916) 574-7697.

uhm.. hello there! Im just a little confused about sending the applications. I have read in your older articles that it would be faster if I asked someone from the US to send my application…
The address in my application is from the Philippines. The address I will be using to send the letter to the BORN will be from the US. Will this do? Will I still receive my ETT?
Lastly, the Breakdown of Educational Program and Transcripts letters… My school does not mail these letters for us. We have to mail it ourselves. Why cant I just staple the application, and these envelopes and have them sent together in the US(mailed by a family member) instead?
There’s also the matter of the fingerprint card. I was born in LA, CA. Is there a code for that?
And the Race. Asian decent: AZN or Asian?
Im done with almost all of the requirements. Jst the mailing thing that bothers me a lot.

Good Day Miss Joan!
I applied for my ATT this march 2009 but when I received it,my name was incorrect. instead of Roger Alfred Castro Cabrera it is Roger Alfred Cabrera Cabrera. I’m worried po because i really want to take the exam as soon as possible and this has been an added pressure for my part because instead of preparing and studying I must do this.
just want to ask lang po what are the steps for me to change my middle name who should I contact first? california board of registered nursing or the pearsonvue itself?how long does it takes to correct and how will i know that it has been corrected?sorry for asking you so many questions po.

Good day! I just want to ask about my ATT.I have a lengthy name.My first name is MA. KIRSTEN ANN RAELEEN and my middle name is CORDERO. And mY last name is LOTERTE. But it only appears on my ATT as MA. KIRSTEN ANN CORDERO LOTERTE. So my RAELEEN name is missing. But I already contacted the board of nursing and pearson vue regarding this matter. But the BON still insisting that I should ommit RAELEEN on my name because there is only a designated number of characters on the database. And as well the pearson vue emailed me that the main thing that the testing administrators will be confirming is the very first and very last name like bookends. And they were aware that there is only a designated number of characters while registering on the CA BON.and this will not a hindrance for me to take the exam. But is it true that it will not make any problem once I will take the exam on the day of it?and will it not cause any future problem regarding my nursing career while I am applying for a job abroad? Thank You hoping to hear a reply from you.
