Hello!I would like to ask how long does it usually take to receive the fingerprint card from Cali BON?I have requested it like a month ago and until now, i haven’t received it.I requested it again cause i’m thinking they didn’t receive my request for the fingerprint card.what else would be the reason for this?and i have another problem!I’m a U.S citizen but i graduated here in the phil. and i have no plans to work here.i’m aware that i have to write an explanation letter why i don’t hold a phil.license.can you please send me a sample of how i should write it?hope to get a reply back from you!thank you in advance..
Well if you intend on taking the examination in the US why don’t you just do the LiveScan when you are there it would be faster that way. But there might be issues with the number of people requesting for the fingerprint card or with the mailing. Maybe PRC can give you a letter validating that you cannot take the examination here.

Good day. I just have my IELTS exam last Aug. 22… Probably after 2 weeks I will have my result already.. Ask ko lang po next step.. I have my NCLEX and IELTS already. Visa Screen na po sunod right? Sino po ba puwede consult ko about the specific visa that I will apply? Ang problem ko now is I don’t have an employer pa. pero I want to have my visa screen na para mabilis na. tama po ba? How to apply na rin po for visa screen? Thank you sa help… More power… Godbless
Well you can secure your VisaScreen but please take note that the VisaScreen does not necesarrily guarantee you work nor papers to be able to work. An advantage of having your VisaScreen done is that you won’t put your IELTS to waste since it expires in 2 years. In addition, most employers require VisaScreen as part of their requirement in getting possible employees. With the current US visa status it might be best to wait a little longer before applying especially when you are tight on a bidget. Just think it over at the moment. You can download the VisaScreen application at the CGFNS Website. You can apply online as well. Good luck!

I just want some help regarding the letter for PRC. Iam a US citizen and I m not going to take the NLE here in the Philippines they said I just need to secure a letter and present it to PRC and they will give me a certification letter which I can include with my NCLEX application. Do you know how this works? What other requirement should I include with my letter to the PRC Im planning to go to PRC next week. To whom shuold I address the letter? Thanks so much for your help.
This is the first time I have actually heard of such. But the best thing to answer this dilemma is PRC they have a department handling all papers concerning about certifications and those needed going abroad which is near the main entrance. You can ask there to whom to address the letter and how to get the said certification or if it insist in the first place. I hope this helped. But usually, most US Citizens who studied BS Nursing here just informed the CA BON themselves that they cannot take the local boards because of their status.

Hi Ms. Joan,
First of all, i would like to thank you for coming up with a website like this. The amount of information I’ve learned over the past hour that I’ve been browsing here was more than what I’ve learned from various sources over the past two months.
Anyway, I still have so many questions to ask and I hope you won’t mind answering them later here. First, I am a US citizen (parents are pinoy) but I grew up here. I graduated with a BSN degree last April, and I passed the June 2009 NLE. My RN license is for release in the first week of October.
As for my first question, is it ideal for me to just mail the application to the BRN after I receive my license so I could scan and print it? (Because I am considering to apply for an Interim Permit, just in case I have to work there.)
Since I am a US citizen, I don’t have to apply for a VisaScreen, right?
Also, regarding the documents the school has to accomplish, may i just get them from the school after they’ve signed it and just attach it together with all the other requirements? So that all the requirements will be sent in just one envelope..
Regarding the fingerprinting, do I really need to request for a Fingerprint card (8″x8″) (FD-258) from the link you posted in one of the entries? https://app.dca.ca.gov/rn/requests.asp (Because I thought the card is available at the NBI.) If so, how long will I wait until the fingerprint cards arrive? Will it be sent to me via mail? Do I have to pay for anything?
About the passport-type photograph, do we really have to follow the US passport format or we could just send any 2×2 photograph? (Since I have a US passport I know that the measures differ than the regular 2×2 here in the Philippines.)
As for the bank draft, we have to attach it together with the other requirements in the envelope, right?
And lastly, since the state of California does not require CGFNS and IELTS, are there any other requirements besides the NCLEX-RN that we need to fulfill?
Thank you very much and I apologize for asking soooo many questions. More power to you!
