Q&A: PNLE EXam, Using 2 Different Address and more…

JANE

maam joan, pwede po ba kami mag take ng nclex exam kahit wala pa kami philippine nursing license..gusto po kasi namin mag take ng nclex ng california.

It would be best to take the PNLE first before venturing in to the NCLEX-RN exam especially if you plan to apply in California. They will ask for a license in the country you were educated and it is part of the requirement. So better accomplish that first and then apply to the California Board of Registered Nursing.

I just have a question regarding my application for NCLEX. I am here in the Philippines and I did my fingerprinting here using my Philippine address and I just wanted to ask if I can use my US address on my application since I have a relative there in California. Will that be possible using different address on my application and on my fingerprint card? Your reply will be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

It would be best to use a single address in your application just so to prevent any confusion or discrepancy on your part. The more problems you have with your application the longer it would take to be eligible to take the examination.

can i ask if how will i know if when will my eligibility will expire?the BRN sent me the letter o eligibility last december 2008. i lost the letter and i dont know if i could still register for the ATT at this time. i am worried bka po kasi expired na..my friends told me that the eligibility is good only for one year..how true?

Yes you’re friends are right usually a Letter of Eligibility expires from 1- 2 years. It depends on the state you applied in. Let me know what state you applied in so we can determine how long the validity of your eligibility is.

Hi there! Glad I found your website. I have a few questions kasi regarding how to acquire my RN license sa California. I have already passed my NCLEX for CA and PearsonVue has mailed me a notice of passing the test along with an application form for the said license. However, it was indicated thereplease, I need your kind advice that an SSN (Social Security Number) is required and I don’t have it, I am not yet a US citizen. What are the steps I should take to gain my license post NCLEX? Help me .
Happy to see you here on the site. Well sad to say, in order for you to get your license in California you would really need to get a SSN. You are given a three year period and well hopefully during that time period you would be able to obtain a SSN already. If not, you can always endorse your license to another state to keep your NCLEX-RN result but this will also entail you to provide the requirements of your chosen state. I guess for now it would be best to take advantage of that 3 year period and transfer your license to another state (if necessary) at a later period. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick reply, Joan. I have a follow-up question regarding obtaining an SSN (Social Security Number). What are ways to have one? I need to have it because I want to be duly registered as RN in California after passing my NCLEX. Do you think it is possible at this time of retrogression in the US particularly in California to obtain one?
