JACQUES

I am a second courser and recently graduated from a Phil. nursing school. I am also a US immigrant. I’ll be leaving last week of April for the USA and won’t be able to take anymore the NLE. Do the CA BON rquire now a local license before taking the NCLEX? Any help ragarding this will be hihgly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

This is a case to case basis. Technically speaking, they require a license in the country where you took up nursing but since you are an immigrant the PRC might not allow you to take the NLE. Some people who applied in CA BON were asked for their Philippine License but then explained their case to CA BON and was then allowed to take the NCLEX. So as mentioned this will be a case to case basis.

hello maam.. just wanna ask po kung what po mga particular na itatanong pag nagpa schedule po ako ng exam kasi po bali ung tita ko po ang tatawag para po magschedule sa akin.just to be ready po kunng ano man po mga itatanung po. At ung ATT po ba na dapat ipresent ko po when I take the exam is pwede po ung senend sakin tru my email at iprint ko na lng po un or hintayin ko pa po ung ipapadala sa akin tru mail? tnx po

The questions that are going to be asked are your basic information as well as questions on what state you are applying for and maybe some information found on your ATT. You will not receive another ATT from mail the one you received in your email inbox is the ATT you would be presenting when you take the examination together with your valid form of identification which is your passport.

Hi…. I just passed my NCLEX-California last year and I’m quite dountful if I can provide them my SSN within 3 years so I’m planning to to transder my license to other state who doesn’t require SSN (to be able not to expire my license because of retrogression it’s very difficult to apply for working visa and to find employer esp. for inexperience nurse (I graduated on 2007 but, still I just on;y have my 5mos volunteer exp. and its already 2009) he he… thanks pls. help me how to apply for the reciprocity law and what states doesn’t require SSN… Thanks

Congratulations! If you plan on transfering your license to another state just fulfill the requirements from the state that you chose by application by endorsement.

hi!!! yung po bang PRC license or certificate of board passing i-phophotocopy??? no need po ba mgbigay form s PRC???

You will use it for what? It would be better if you could send a certified true copy of your license or board rating or an original copy of the certificate of passing as opposed to just a photocopy of the mentioned documents.

Q&A: Wrong Name on ATT, Bankdrafts and more…

KARIE

Hi maam.. I’m just worried about my ATT..because my name was mispelled and my address as well.. i tried to email them but there was no response yet? i havent scheduled my exam yet.. Just need an advise.. and also po, i was petitioned by my father and i’ll be leaving on june but my father wanted me to take my exam here.. and i plan to take it on may. DO you think I need to change my address? coz the address i used is the here in the phil. and im just worried that before i can receive the result im already in the US.. thanks a lot..

The address is not much of an issue but the misspelled name might be since the name on your ATT will be compared with your proof of ID which is your passport. Better give them a call rather than waiting for an email reply because more often than not it might take a while before they reply. Taking the exam here is fine but it might take a while to schedule an exam date plus there is an added fee of $150 if you take the examination outside US. As for the address, it doesn’t matter if it is addressed here or there when you take the examination. But of course the results would be mailed where the address is placed.

hi der..i just wana ask how will i pay for nclex using bank draft..i opened an account in bdo just to pay for the exam but i dont know the next step..help pls..tnxalot

If you are talking about the application fee usually the state board you are applying in has special instructions on who to address the bank draft to. Same thing goes with registering at PearsonVue.

RACCABRERA

I applied for my ATT this march 2009 but when I received it,my name was incorrect. instead of Roger Alfred Castro Cabrera it is Roger Alfred Cabrera Cabrera. I’m worried po because i really want to take the exam as soon as possible and this has been an added pressure for my part because instead of preparing and studying I must do this.

It would be best if you contact Pearson Vue since this might be an issue when you go for your exam. When you go for your exam, they check for your name and picture in your ATT and your proof of identification and that might be a discrepancy and a reason for you not to be able to take the examination. Do not rush in to things, take your time in studying rather than being in a hurry to take the exam. Also, do not sweat the small stuff I mean yes this is an issue but don’t exert all your energy into this deal with it but at the same time focus with your review.

just want to ask lang po what are the steps for me to change my middle name who should I contact first? california board of registered nursing or the pearsonvue itself?how long does it takes to correct and how will i know that it has been corrected?sorry for asking you so many questions po.

DENS

san ba magbabayad nung additional na $150 for first time taker?dun din ba kung saan ako nagbayad ng $200?TIA

It depends where you paid because if you registered online you might have to send the additional fees over and not pay over the internet. But if you mailed the fees then most probably you would use the same route in paying the additional fees.

hi. i had mailed the requirements for the application for licensure examination to the Board of Registered Nursing in California . They sent a mail dated Oct 8, 2008 and Dec. 3, 2008 asking for clarifications from my nursing school about the hours stated on the Educational Breakdown Form and on the RLE Records. By Nov. 17, 2008, my nursing school mailed the summary of the nursing subjects, my Transcript of Records together with the RLE transcript which is mandated by Commission of Higher Education (CHED) to comply with the said request. But on Dec 22, 2008, the BON California c/o Feroza Baig sent another email that my nursing education does not meet the minimum requirements in Psychiatric Nursing. I would like to clarify that because my former classmates already took NCLEX and we have the same curriculum and nursing education. I showed this letter to my nursing school and they told me to clarify this with the BON California for they already sent a reply and was assuming that there could be delay to the mail that they sent. I already emailed the BON Cali. Thank you.

First, you should verify with the California BON if they had received your school’s reply with regards to the issue as there might have been delays with regards to mailing. If still the problem persist you can explain to them that other students from your school have been granted to take the NCLEX-RN examination and ask why your case is any different from there. Try to reason out accordingly and ask if any other documents are needed to be provided.
