NYRNWANNABE

If I will meet all of the NY board of nursing’s eligibility requirements to take the NCLEX examination, how can I get a certificate on child abuse seminar when I am here in the Philippines? Thank you.

If I am not mistaken it is lister on their website the accredited schools for such seminar most them you can take online and pay via credit card.

I just want to ask regarding NCLEX-RN pass endorsement to Vermont…there’s a portion in the application requiring us to submit a NCLEX-RN candidate report with photo..how am I going to submit since I only received a notification letter without the my photo? Please help me!!!

I think that letter would do since now they require you to have a CES report/ VisaScreen from CGFNS which also verifies your license from whichever state you applied in. For now, the best thing to do is to just send in the notification letter and if that does not work then you can always request a copy from the state you applied in to verify your license.

hi ms. joan! again, thank you for your responses, i don’t know how i could get these things done without your help. remember i received a letter from cali bon wherein they asked for the photocopy of my rle? after sending it a week after, i was surprised to receive my eligibility this last week of august. it only took a month and half to be processed. question is, what do i do next? i’m going to be training at a hospital for 3 mos. and i don’t think i can fully focus on my reading. if i register @ pearson vue and i receive my att, do i get to choose my exam date? i don’t want to be caught empty-handed when my att arrives and the exam date is sooner than i think. i’m planning to take it around april or may. ;x thank you in advance!

Here is the thing once you register with PearsonVue and pay the $200 you will receive your ATT once you get that ATT you will have one year to take the examination. You will always have that option to choose your exam date but make sure that once you register you are ready to take the examination.

i’m here again!hehe, anyways, i have my eligibility already and they send it thru mail and not thru email..is it okay?my friend also received got his eligibility thru mail..my problem is, when i tried to register to www.pearsonvue.com/nclex, i can’t complete my application. i got stuck on the part of Nursing Program something..what should i do? pls send me an email. it will greatly be appreciated..thanks a lot

Hi there its so nice to hear from you and yes usually the eligibility is sent through mail. I’m not sure what part of the site you are mentioning but usually there might be some codes specific like for the school, nursing program etc. The NCLEX Candidate Bulletin might be of help to you when it comes to the registration procedures.

MIKE

Hi Ms. Joan, First of all, i would like to thank you for coming up with a website like this. The amount of information I’ve learned over the past hour that I’ve been browsing here was more than what I’ve learned from various sources over the past two months.

Glad to be of help. I am very happy that you find the information in the site helpful in your process. Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it :)

Anyway, I still have so many questions to ask and I hope you won’t mind answering them later here. First, I am a US citizen (parents are pinoy) but I grew up here. I graduated with a BSN degree last April, and I passed the June 2009 NLE. My RN license is for release in the first week of October.

Its a good thing you were able to take the PNLE despite your status as a US Citizen. Congratulations on making the local board exams.

As for my first question, is it ideal for me to just mail the application to the BRN after I receive my license so I could scan and print it? (Because I am considering to apply for an Interim Permit, just in case I have to work there.)

Yeah i think that would just prevent you from further delays in application if you are not in a hurry or anything I think it would be best if you wait for your license.

Since I am a US citizen, I don’t have to apply for a VisaScreen, right?

Yes that is correct.

Also, regarding the documents the school has to accomplish, may i just get them from the school after they’ve signed it and just attach it together with all the other requirements? So that all the requirements will be sent in just one envelope.

Nope. Here is the thing most schools do not offer a courier service to mail the documents to the Boards of Nursing. What you can do is submit the necessary documents and once accomplished, get it from your school and have it mailed separately from your application and make it appear that the school is the one mailing your documents. They can never be mailed together with your application since it provides conflict of interest. Make sure you have the school documents placed in a sealed envelope with the signature of your school registrar for security purposes.

Regarding the fingerprinting, do I really need to request for a Fingerprint card (8″x8″) (FD-258) from the link you posted in one of the entries? https://app.dca.ca.gov/rn/requests.asp (Because I thought the card is available at the NBI.) If so, how long will I wait until the fingerprint cards arrive? Will it be sent to me via mail? Do I have to pay for anything?

Yes you would have to request that from the California Board of Registered Nursing. Usually the card takes about a month or two before it arrives and it will be sent via mail. No payments are made for requesting a fingerprint card. If you plan on going to the US anytime soon you can avail of the LiveScan process there.

About the passport-type photograph, do we really have to follow the US passport format or we could just send any 2×2 photograph? (Since I have a US passport I know that the measures differ than the regular 2×2 here in the Philippines.)

I just sent the regular 2×2 picture  that is used in the Philippines.

As for the bank draft, we have to attach it together with the other requirements in the envelope, right?

Yes the bank draft should be sent together with your application or else your application will NOT be processed.

And lastly, since the state of California does not require CGFNS and IELTS, are there any other requirements besides the NCLEX-RN that we need to fulfill?

None you just need to pass the NCLEX-RN examination and once you passed, you need to provide them with your SSN in order to obtain your license.

Thank you very much and I apologize for asking soooo many questions

Glad to be of help let me know if you have any further clarifications or questions :) Good luck with your application!

PRINCESSPHAU

was wondering what site i can visit to check if i can get a finger print card for Washinton State so i can do my endorsement. By the way they are asking me about AIDS Education and Training Attestation. Where can I possibly do that or have it done here in the Philippines? Please help

I think when you request for a packet application for Washington it will come with the fingerprint card. As for the education usually it is available online just make sure that it is accredited by the Washington Board of Nursing.

i hope u can help me..i am applying for nclex states of cali.. i forgot to include my application fee in my requirements what will i do?i already send all my requirements im thingking of email it separately via money order..

Well I am not quite sure if they accept money order to be sure send a bank draft. Obviously, they will not process your documents without the application fee. You can still send in the fee but just make sure that it has your name on it to be certain that the fee will be credited to your account.

Good day… I just received my IELTS result… Too bad that I only have a TBS of 6. Is it ok? i think U.S. accepts a TBS of 6 right? I still don’t have an employer yet. Do you know some agencies who process for visa screen? I already passed my NCLEX also. However, still don’t have any work experience yet. Is it ok for me to be in training program like for dialysis or accepts the 1 yr and 6 mos contract for the ICU if ever they will absorb me because I apply there for volunteer and they said that it will depends on my performance if they will hire me. But, 1 yr. 6mos. is too long. Does U.S. accepts training or volunteer experiences? Thank you for you future reply…  More power…

Your band score is fine BUT your band score would depend on where you actually plan on using it since it varies. I do not know any agencies who shoulder visascreen expenses. As for the experience, it would be best to get experience especially with the retrogression it might take a while before visas for nurses will be available. At least with the experience, it opens up more options for you plus the training will be a great boost for your confidence in this chosen field.

CONFUSED01

Hi mam joan ! i really appreciate the time that you gave to answer my questions… i called the California Board of nursing and your right my papers was on process already, there just waiting for the documents coming from my school and hopely everything will be ok…

That is good to hear I hope that your Letter of Eligibility arrives soon and good luck with your preparation for the NCLEX-RN examination.

Hello!I would like to ask how long does it usually take to receive the fingerprint card from Cali BON?I  have requested it like a month ago and until now, i haven’t received it.I requested it again cause i’m thinking they didn’t receive my request for the fingerprint card.what else would be the reason for this?and i have another problem!I’m a U.S citizen but i graduated here in the phil. and i have no plans to work here.i’m aware that i have to write an explanation letter why i don’t hold a phil.license.can you please send me a sample of how i should write it?hope to get a reply back from you!thank you in advance..

Well if you intend on taking the examination in the US why don’t you just do the LiveScan when you are there it would be faster that way. But there might be issues with the number of people requesting for the fingerprint card or with the mailing. Maybe PRC can give you a letter validating that you cannot take the examination here.

SHADOW

Good day. I just have my IELTS exam last Aug. 22… Probably after 2 weeks I will have my result already.. Ask ko lang po next step.. I have my NCLEX and IELTS already. Visa Screen na po sunod right? Sino po ba puwede consult ko about the specific visa that I will apply? Ang problem ko now is I don’t have an employer pa. pero I want to have my visa screen na para mabilis na. tama po ba? How to apply na rin po for visa screen? Thank you sa help… More power… Godbless

Well you can secure your VisaScreen but please take note that the VisaScreen does not necesarrily guarantee you work nor papers to be able to work. An advantage of having your VisaScreen done is that you won’t put your IELTS to waste since it expires in 2 years. In addition, most employers require VisaScreen as part of their requirement in getting possible employees. With the current US visa status it might be best to wait a little longer before applying especially when you are tight on a bidget. Just think it over at the moment. You can download the VisaScreen application at the CGFNS Website. You can apply online as well. Good luck!

ano po lagay sa race sa fingerprint card?

It depends on what state you are planning on applying since they have different procedures.

I just want some help regarding the letter for PRC. Iam a US citizen and I m not going to take the NLE here in the Philippines they said I just need to secure a letter and present it to PRC and they will give me a certification letter which I can include with my NCLEX application. Do you know how this works? What other requirement should I include with my letter to the PRC Im planning to go to PRC next week. To whom shuold I address the letter? Thanks so much for your help.

This is the first time I have actually heard of such. But the best thing to answer this dilemma is PRC they have a department handling all papers concerning about certifications and those needed going abroad which is near the main entrance. You can ask there to whom to address the letter and how to get the said certification or if it insist in the first place. I hope this helped. But usually, most US Citizens who studied BS Nursing here just informed the CA BON themselves that they cannot take the local boards because of their status.
