gud eve mam. I just would like to ask, where can i find tha application form for new mexico.. i’ve been searching for how many hours now but still i cant find the correct site.. Im asking fro ur guidance with this matter.. thank you

Here is the link for the New Mexico NCLEX- RN Application make sure to apply within the next 30 days as the forms can change from time to time. The link provided gives you the recent application used by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.

KIRSTEN

Good day!  I just want to ask about my ATT.I have a lengthy name.My first name is MA. KIRSTEN ANN RAELEEN and my middle name is CORDERO. And mY last name is LOTERTE. But it only appears on my ATT as MA. KIRSTEN ANN CORDERO LOTERTE. So my RAELEEN name is missing. But I already contacted the board of nursing and pearson vue regarding this matter. But the BON still insisting that I should ommit RAELEEN on my name because there is only a designated number of characters on the database. And as well the pearson vue emailed me that the main thing that the testing administrators will be confirming is the very first and very last name like bookends. And they were aware that there is only a designated number of characters while registering on the CA BON.and this will not a hindrance for me to take the exam. But is it true that it will not make any problem once I will take the exam on the day of it?and will it not cause any future problem regarding my nursing career while I am applying for a job abroad? Thank You hoping to hear a reply from you.

My advice for you is to obviously contact the CA BON and Pearson Vue regarding the matter but since you have already done that just take their advice since they are in the best position with regards to the matter. Just keep in file all of these conversations you had with the CA BON and PearsonVue for future references. I also think that as long as your first, middle and last name are intact in your files you would be fine.

Hello. I find your site very useful for us US-RN hopefuls. Anyway, I would just like to ask with regards to my requirements for my NCLEX application in the state of Illinois. I have with me the forms already including the CES. Should I include in the submission of my requirements the ED-NUR form? or only the CT-NUR? Thanks. More power!

Thank you very much glad to be of help. You have to include both since the ED-NUR is for the verification of your completion of your nursing degree and the CT-NUR is for the verification of your nursing license.

gud day, i have already my finger print card. di ko po alam kung san ako magfifinger print.sang office po d2 sa atin? at next po i have my US visa althoug tourist lang cya. mas maganda ba i alis ko na ito at dun kumuha? ano po ang tamng gagawin ko thnx po.

You can do it in most NBI offices but the safest choice is their branch in Carriedo. You can inquire on your local NBI branches if they have such branches. As for your tourist visa, it can only take you so far as the process goes. Please be reminded that, your tourist visa is meant for leisure traveling nothing more than that. It can be an advantage in terms of scheduling an exam since you will have more options in terms of test dates as compared to Manila but you also have to weigh in the cost of the trip etc.

hi! i want to know if what is the average band score for ielts? and what should be my bandscore(ielts) in relation to nlcex? thanks!

It depends on where you would use your IELTS but I think for the CGFNS VisaScreen it would be an overall band score of 7. The NCLEX-RN and the IELTS have no direct relation but the IELTS can be a prerequisite before being made eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination and this varies from state to state. The IELTS would be significant when you apply for your VisaScreen as mentioned above.

hello po.. i hope you can help me.. i have requested for a fingerprint card from the board of nursing in California… when it arrived last week the package was already folded.. so I requested another one and I addressed it to my cousin in qc.. is it ok if I use the fingerprint card i requested that is being addressed to my cousin??? and where should I pay or ask for a money order??? my classm8 told me it is being paid in the bank… hope you’ll answer all my queries… pls reply in my email address.. thank you…

Yes it doesn’t matter where the fingerprint card came from as long as it is from the California Board of Registered Nursing. Yes you need to ask assistance from the bank to make a bank draft addressed to the Board of Registered Nursing.

CONFUSED01

Hi mam joan ! i really appreciate the time that you gave to answer my questions… i called the California Board of nursing and your right my papers was on process already, there just waiting for the documents coming from my school and hopely everything will be ok…

That is good to hear I hope that your Letter of Eligibility arrives soon and good luck with your preparation for the NCLEX-RN examination.

Hello!I would like to ask how long does it usually take to receive the fingerprint card from Cali BON?I  have requested it like a month ago and until now, i haven’t received it.I requested it again cause i’m thinking they didn’t receive my request for the fingerprint card.what else would be the reason for this?and i have another problem!I’m a U.S citizen but i graduated here in the phil. and i have no plans to work here.i’m aware that i have to write an explanation letter why i don’t hold a phil.license.can you please send me a sample of how i should write it?hope to get a reply back from you!thank you in advance..

Well if you intend on taking the examination in the US why don’t you just do the LiveScan when you are there it would be faster that way. But there might be issues with the number of people requesting for the fingerprint card or with the mailing. Maybe PRC can give you a letter validating that you cannot take the examination here.

SHADOW

Good day. I just have my IELTS exam last Aug. 22… Probably after 2 weeks I will have my result already.. Ask ko lang po next step.. I have my NCLEX and IELTS already. Visa Screen na po sunod right? Sino po ba puwede consult ko about the specific visa that I will apply? Ang problem ko now is I don’t have an employer pa. pero I want to have my visa screen na para mabilis na. tama po ba? How to apply na rin po for visa screen? Thank you sa help… More power… Godbless

Well you can secure your VisaScreen but please take note that the VisaScreen does not necesarrily guarantee you work nor papers to be able to work. An advantage of having your VisaScreen done is that you won’t put your IELTS to waste since it expires in 2 years. In addition, most employers require VisaScreen as part of their requirement in getting possible employees. With the current US visa status it might be best to wait a little longer before applying especially when you are tight on a bidget. Just think it over at the moment. You can download the VisaScreen application at the CGFNS Website. You can apply online as well. Good luck!

ano po lagay sa race sa fingerprint card?

It depends on what state you are planning on applying since they have different procedures.

I just want some help regarding the letter for PRC. Iam a US citizen and I m not going to take the NLE here in the Philippines they said I just need to secure a letter and present it to PRC and they will give me a certification letter which I can include with my NCLEX application. Do you know how this works? What other requirement should I include with my letter to the PRC Im planning to go to PRC next week. To whom shuold I address the letter? Thanks so much for your help.

This is the first time I have actually heard of such. But the best thing to answer this dilemma is PRC they have a department handling all papers concerning about certifications and those needed going abroad which is near the main entrance. You can ask there to whom to address the letter and how to get the said certification or if it insist in the first place. I hope this helped. But usually, most US Citizens who studied BS Nursing here just informed the CA BON themselves that they cannot take the local boards because of their status.

Q&A: Retaking the NCLEX-RN Examination, Change of Address and more…

NEOTRINITY

Hi! I would like to clarify about the retake forms. In California, they gave the instructions to download the forms.  But they also said that once you pass your requirements, you dont need to pass them again.  in the reapplication forms, (by the way, they did not send any reapplication forms with the rejection letter) there’s a nursing verification form for your school (again?).  i thought we dont need to pass any more forms that we previously sent the Cali BON?  I really need to know which form/forms to send coz I cant wait to retake my exam.  Need to get it over with ASAP. Thank you in advance.:D

Okay here is the thing, if you have sent a nursing program verification form before then it is not necessary to send them again. All you need to mail to them is the filled up re-application form and the fee of $75. After mailing those forms, you should receive your ATT after a month or so. But please bear in mind that you have to wait for 45 days since you last took your NCLEX-RN exam before you can reregister in PearsonVue.

hello maam.. I received a letter from california stating that I passed the NCLEX-RN exam and that they are requesting me to submit my US SSN which I dont have. What should I do maam?..And how will I confirm that I really passed the test? Can I call them? And kailangan ko pa po bang magtake ng CGFNS at IELTS for california maam? What shall I do next maam?..

Congratulations! Well the letter is enough to confirm that you have passed the test as it states. As for the US SSN the thing is you have to find an employer for that. As for the CGFNS and IELTS it is not a pre requisite for California Board of Nursing. You might want to consider applying for the VisaScreen which some employers look for in Nurses but way all options first since US is in recession and currently no visas are being released so you might want to consider that first. You can always gain experience first in the field to broaden your options.

I am getting married within the year to an American but I still wish to practise my profession. I have taken it twice but failed.  Is it better to take it after getting married. Will my married status erase my record of passing it twice in a row? Or is all right to retake th eNCLEX prior to getting married. I am confused as I am no longer practising my profession after having flanked twice. Thanks, Joan

I don’t think your civil status would change the records of your NCLEX-RN exam taking history. And if you are married, make sure you inform the Board of Nursing in which you applied to about the changes. Usually, most Board of Nursing’s have forms pertaining to Change of Name/ Address forms. You just need to take this as a challenge more than anything else. Before taking it again, take time to analyze everything and see where you think things went wrong. If it helps, you can view my article called NCLEX-RN Materials and Tips that might help you out. Good luck and let me know if I can help you with anything else.

BIGDADDYDRE

i’ll be taking my NCLEX-RN exam here in the Phils this coming november. the address in my ATT is my mom’s address in california and i’m currently residing here in the Phils. will the Board still allow me to take the exam even if i have a different address indicated in my ATT? Thank you Mam and God bless!

Yes the address would not be an issue. What you need to consider in taking the exam is the name on your ATT should match the one in your passport. Good luck with your examination!

EMY_08

hi! cud sum1 help me pls? im applying for nclex. in sending my otr, do my school have to send the original or the certified photocopied one? Should they also attached the university diploma? i have my PIC already, do i also have to send my board certificate?

Okay I am kind of confused with your question. Your school should be the one sending all the requirements that they are asking from the school not you. The college diploma is not necessary what you need to send together with your application form is the copy of your license if you do not have one at the moment the board certificate would be fine.

MAC11

hi good day to all, my name is Mac and i need your help guys ,napasa ko yung nclex sa CAli then na recieve ko na yung license ko, wala akong local license and ielts, gusto ko sana mag work dito sa illinois ,ask ko lang kung pano mag pa endorse and yung mga requirements na kelangan, please help me salamat in advance

Hi Mac! First, congratulations on passing the exam :) If you want to practice in Illinois you would have to endorse your license to that state. You can view the Endorsement Application for Illinois at the link provided and most of the information you need are there. You would also need to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as part of their requirment as well as avail of the CES Report by CGFNS to assess your school credentials.

SGNurse

I just recently discovered this site and I find it very helpful.I would like to inquire about my Visa screen certificate that will expire on 2010 although all my papers are already submitted in NVC by my employer and I am just waiting for my case to be current. Due to the retrogression, I am confused what will happen to my Visa screen since I only got CGFNS and IELTS certificate and until now I havent got RN US license. Thank you.

Thank you very much glad to be of help to everyone. Well as long as your papers are not yet filed you would have to renew your VisaScreen certificate to make it current. To be sure, verify with your employer or agency that is handling your documents for the US. But as far as I know it has to be renewed until your papers are finalized. Reading the link provided about Renewing Expired VisaScreen at the link provided might be helpful to you.

hi..how can i forward my nclex result to cgfns? my state is california…

You would have to send the Verification of License Form which is provided by CGFNS to the California Board of Nursing. Fill out the necessary details and mail it to this address:

California Board of Registered Nursing
Attn: Renewals Unit
P.O. Box 944210
Sacramento, CA 94244-2100

Also, please do not forget to include a money order of $60 and make it payable to Board of Registered Nursing. Once they receive the forms, they will be the one to forward it to CGFNS .

SUNSHINE B.

hi, ms. joan! ;) im glad to see ur website and it is so nice of you to help us your fellow nurses.. :D i have certain concerns and hoping you could help me..

Thank you very much and glad to be of help.

first: is it true that if I will apply for New York NCLEX-RN i must get CVS first and wait for it for about 7-8 months? is it really that long? then after that i will have to wait for another 4-5 months for eligibility?

The CVS requirement is correct. But as for the waiting time it might vary due to a lot of factors. Of course, if you give the correct requirements and information to CGFNS processing would be faster. You are given a year to fulfill all the requirements needed by CGFNS. As for the processing in New York that is another thing and processing will vary from one applicant to the other.

second: if i will apply for CA NCLEX-RN and fortunately i will passed it, is it possible that i could work in NY instead? how long will it be process?

You can always transfer your license to New York but the thing is you would still have to fulfill New York Board of Nursing’s requirements which is the CES. So it would be better to apply to  the state where you really intend to work in.

i will appreciate any information that you could give me.. thank you! God Bless! :)

Hope this helped :)

LILLADEEP

hi ms. joan! thank you for the infos here, they’re really helpful. i would just like to ask, if you requested for the fingerprint card first thru the link that you gave in the article above, will the board send it and ask you for the payment after? or they won’t send it unless you payed them first? thank you for you help in advance. i really need guidance coz i’m pressured by my parents. i don’t know if i should work first or get these exams over with.

There is no payment for the fingerprint card. They will just send you the fingerprint at no charge. Do not give in to the pressure, I am sure you’re parents are just thinking what is best for you. Stay positive and keep your cool ;) Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
