After passing the CGFNS certication program, can I still apply for an eligibility to take the exam for Washington state without taking the IELTS yet? Thanks so much for the reply. This sure will be a great help on my application! More power! :)

Well here is the thing I checked the requirements for Washington Board of Registered Nursing and they require the CES which you can get from CGFNS and the TOEFL before becoming eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination. So please take note that you are suppose to take the TOEFL not IELTS if you intend to apply to Washington.

anyone here taking the cgfns qualifying exam on Mar 2010? i need accurate advice as to when is the best time to apply for the IELTS exam. im sitting for the mar 2010 cgfns qualifying exam, is it more practical to wait for the qualifying result before i apply for ielts? no one would want to pay for the ielts exam if he/she failed in the cgfns qualifying exam. has anyone tried this strategy?

I think it would be logical to wait for your results first prior to taking the IELTS. Scheduling for an IELTS exam is much easier as opposed to CGFNS or the NCLEX-RN exam and they have available dates all year round. Plus the IELTS exam has a validity of 2 years after passing it so it would be a far more logical choice to wait out for the results prior to applying for the IELTS.

hi..gud eve…!im bothered kc my application for nclex ay bumalik stating na “we recieved your transcript but need hrs. for microbilogy and ana/phi sent to the board from your school of nursing.THE BOARD DOES NOT ACCEPT TRANSCRIPTS SUBMITTED BY APPLICANTs”….Im a PT grad, so na tapos kuna micro and ana/phi noon when i enroll sa nursing crinedit naman ng institution ung 2 subject na yun, my problem now is 2nd tym na ko mgaaply sa dati kung school kung saan ko natapos ung micro and ana/phi ko, ok lng ba nag pagawa ko ng explanation letter to be address sa head ng BON na natapos ko ung 2 subject ko tas crinedit naman ng instituttion na were i graduated nursing…tas vise versa sa nursing school na were i graduated…pls help me……diko alam kung ano 1st gagawin ko…

Here is the thing… the school where you completed your nursing degree should have reflected those subjects in their transcript if they credited those subjects from your previous school. You can verify with your school where you took up nursing if these subjects are reflected in your transcript if not, maybe they can write a letter addressed to the Board of Nursing declaring the number of hours for the said subjects. And then, the letter should be mailed by the school to the Board of Nursing. I hope this helps let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Hi! Just wanna inquire kasi may friend ako. Nagexpire na ang att and reg nya for Marianas Island pero hindi cya nakatake ng exam and she wanted to apply for Cali BON, what will she do? Will she have to do teh process all over again or will she just make a reregistration?

Registration for Northern Mariana Islands and California are different. She would have to apply and fulfill the requirements for California if she intends to apply there. But if she wants to continue her application for N. Mariana she would have to check first the validity of the records she has existing with N. Mariana Board of Registered Nursing.

Just want to ask if I need a local license in order to take the NCLEX? I tried to search it but, I couldn’t find any. Do you know which States do not require a local license? thank you so much!

It depends on what state you plan to apply to. But it would be best to secure a Philippine Nursing License as most states do require a license in the country where you took nursing.

hello po can you please help me. i’ve registered and recieved eligibility notice last january 2007 now the thing is, i was not able to send back the application form that was sent to me , for premission to take the test on what state and etc… now i’d like to know if my application is still valid, i mean can i just send the form or apply online to pay the 200 thru credit card and 50 still outside u.s.a. or i have to re-apply?as in the form and fingerprint card again? and start all over again? or only the application form ? and pay for 75 dollars and that’s all, since i already have my fingerprint card with them with my last application? please help me hoping for your response soon…

I am assuming that you applied for the California Board of Registered Nursing. Usually their eligibility is valid for 2 years so if you received yours in 2007 that might have expired already meaning you would need to have a new eligibility. But for what I know California Board of Registered Nursing keeps records of applicants for three (3) years. The best thing to do is give them a call and see if your records are still in good standing. If not, then you would have no choice but to reapply and do the whole process all over again. Verify first with the California Board of Registered Nursing before registering to Pearson Vue and paying the $200 as once you have your ATT you need to take the examination within the year.

Q&A: Obtaining a Fingerprint Card in Illinois, Local Board Requirement and more…

MAAN

hi, a friend of mine told me that this site really helped her a lot regarding her nclex application. im applying for nclex illinois and i’m quite confused about their fingerprint reqt.. my friend gave me a fingerprint card obtained in Cali, can i just change the adress typed there?coz i already had my fingerprint in an nbi offfice… then after, i just have to send it to CTS right? thanx thanx and more power…

You cannot use their fingerprint card since like you mentioned it is addressed to California. Each state has their own set of fingerprint cards and you just have to request it from them.

oh, one more thing, i’ve already sent my docs to cgfns for the CES report, in their website(my account), they’ve already sent it to CTS, but that was before i applied in CTS online… would i have a problem with that? and would u happen to know how many months does it take before i can receive my personal copy?coz, i sent the request last august, til now i haven’t received a hard copy from them… same goes with my toefl, i passed toefl even before i applied online and im not sure if theyve sent the report to CTS already… thanks again…

I don’t think this would be an issue. I am not sure on how long or if you are to receive a copy of your CES Report because as far as that is concerned they just forward the results of that to the requesting Board of Nursing. It would be best to inquire both with TOEFL and CGFNS with regards to this matter.

hi, can i just call the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-Illinois to obtain a fingerprint card? or do they have an online request form like Cali or New Mexico? i have a fingerprint card that i got from Cali, can i just use that? thanks…

You cannot use the one from California. Proof of fingerprint submission should be in the form of a copy of the fingerprint receipt (for Illinois graduates or Illinois residents), or a completed FP-NUR form for out-of state and foreign-educated applicants. You need to request fingerprint card via MAIL from this address: Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

ATTN: Division of Professional Regulation
320 West Washington Street, 3rd Floor
Springfield, IL 62786
Telephone: 217/782-8556

Hi.. I am an nclex passer of the Saipan bon.. And currently transfering my license to california. I have been waiting and have been trying to call  Saipan bon with no success.. I found out that it takes Saipan bon longer to process endorsements .. Is this true? What can u suggest I do? Can ncsbn help in obtaining information re my license ?

Saipan is not part of the compact states so I don’t think the NCSBN might be much of help. I don’t have much experience in applying in Saipan but from what I’ve read and encountered the Saipan BON does not have their own website if you need to contact them here is the information I’ve gathered. Seems like the best way to get in touch with them is via phone or mail:

Magandang araw po, my daughter will be graduating on March sa Philippines, right after graduation punta na po sila dito sa America, pwede po bang kumuha ng nclex exam ang anak ko sa California without taking the board exam sa Pilipinas?

What is the immigration status of your daughter? Here is the thing the CA BON requires a license in the country wherein she was educated but if she is an immigrant then the PRC might not allow her to take the PNLE thus she can just reason out with CA BON that she is not allowed to sit down for the examination. But if your daughter can take the PNLE it would be best for her to take the examination just so to prevent further problems with her application with CA BON.
