Q&A: Changing or Updating of Address, ATT Information and more…
April 12th, 2010SANDRA
HI! am sandra… and i just graduated BSN in the philippines last March 2009… I wasn’t able to take the NLE coz my immigrant visa will be expiring soon and i need to go here in the U.S. to avoid revocation… nwei, i went here in CA and started filing my application for NCLEX… I already had my file number but I still have to work on the documents that are to be submitted by my school… And now, i moved to a new location and thought that i should immediately notify the BON about the change of my address… I already sent the completed form (which i got from their website) to them and its been a month but i never heard anything from them since then… I was waiting for their reply, for as to know whether they’re already updated my info; only to find out that i’ve sent it to their ‘generic’ address and not to their ‘more specific’ address where all revisions/renewals where being processed… My question is, would they be processing it by now? or should I send another completed form to them? Coz I am just worried that they might be sending communications to my old address and am not even notified of what to do next… hope, you could help me out… thank u…
I don’t think that they send a reply when you request for a change or name/ address. I did the same before and didn’t get a reply from them I just assumed that they got my request and updated their records. If you want you can give them a call if they received your request. Whether you sent it on their PO Box address or their actual address they’d receive it. Most of their mail are sent in the PO Box address they just give their specific address because some couriers do not accept mails to PO Box address.

hi miss joan ask ko lng po medyo naguguluhan ako..US citizen po ako but d2 ako graduate sa pinas and d2 narin lumaki.d ko na po ba kailangan ng tofel or ielts and local license?i aquired my citizenship through birth and already got my ss number.
The IELTS/ TOEFL is not necessary unless indicated by the state you applied in. Since you took Nursing in the Philippines you might still need to fulfill that requirement.

thanks for the help….but i still another question/problem ang that is i cant remember the month when was i last applied my exam….is it right if i just put in when was i last received my eligibility?thanks again…..
They are looking for the date you last applied for the exam not the time you received your eligibility those 2 dates are far apart from each other and is not accurate. They might need the specific month to track back on your documents etc. Try to look at receipts from couriers or at least give the closest estimate from the time you received your eligibility if you really cannot remember the time you applied in California BON.

hello po ask ko po sana what if nagpaprocess ako ng eligibility sa NEAC and then gusto ko na kasi magpaATT and i want to do it on my own ang concern ko kasi yung mga infos like address and phone number baka hindi magmatch… paano po yun..?? kasi syempre nung prinocess nila yung eligibility ko address nila yung nakalagay…
The question is, is your eligibility with you? because that is the most important thing. If it is, then you can always file for an address change so that results of your exam will be forwarder to you and not to them. The application for the ATT is done with Pearson Vue not with the Board of Nursing. If you worry about the date being different I do not think it would be much of an issue since the important thing with your ATT is that your name should match your ATT and your passport. You just need to change your address so that results of your exam will be mailed to your address and not theirs.

hi i need your help badly.I took my nclex last 2008 and i failed.I took it in the philippines and my att laready expired.I am here in NY now and i want to reapply for NCLEX..what steps should i do?where and how can i apply for my att?please advise..thank you
In which state did you apply for your first examination? If you applied in New York you would have to get the form for Reapplication/ Reexamination. And before getting an ATT you would need to have a letter of eligibility from the Board of Nursing of your choice.

Hi Joan, I am Francis, one of the avid readers of your advice. I emailed you because I want to ask you something about my application for NCLEX examination. The thing is, i already received my eligibility letter a year ago when im still in the Philippines and I am now here in U.K. I now want to continue my application for nclex, my question is if i submit my registration form from here, i will use my current address here in U.k., do you think it will create confusion and delay my ATT? And one thing more Jo, coz I already paid $107 for application and fingerprint card, do I need to pay another $200 together with my regstration form? Sorry Joan for bothering you, I hope you have time in reading and responding to my question. Thnak you and God bless. More power..
You can always file a change of address for free in the California Board you can find the form in their website. As for your ATT, it would not be much of an issue since you are filing the application for that in Pearson Vue not with the CA BON. The important thing with your ATT is that your name matches the one written in your passport. The $200 is for the registration at Pearson Vue so yes it is necessary to pay that. And if you are to take the exam outside the US then you would have to pay an additional $150 once you schedule for an actual test date. Go ahead with your filing and update your address at CA BON and you are all set. Do take note that once your register with Pearson Vue you are ONLY given a year to take the examination. Thank you for your question and let me know if you have further clarifications… definitely not a bother
